Moving from Community Mental Health endeavors to private practice.

Compass Counseling was conceptualized as a practice that provides not only evaluation and therapeutic interventions for those suffering with substance abuse and mental health issues, but as a source of real time crisis intervention, suicide awareness and prevention, family interventions, and referral to effectively address emergent and acute issues in my client's lives.

I have used and given the Compass as a tool, metaphor, and teaching aid for individuals and groups since I began my work as a clinician. I find the references to direction, focus, planning, and confidence very effective in framing difficult and murky issues my clients may face.

I hope Compass Counseling will provide a waypoint for individuals at a crossroads in their own journey in this big show we call life.
